Microwave technology and research activity in Europe are affected, besides the international market, by the policy adopted by the European Commission. The introduction of the Networks of Excellence (NoE’s) aiming at integrating European research centers, is having a global impact in the area of microwaves, affecting the relations between European centers as well as those between industry and academia. Results and perspectives of the European research policy in the area of microwaves will be presented and discussed among representatives of NoE’s and Integrated Projects (IP) as well as a representative of EC and from European industry.
